Cancer Forums

Cancer Forums are open meetings featuring a panel presentation by representatives from the medical and scientific communities with the special participation of cancer survivors.

Members of the audience are invited to question the panelists, view displays, and gather the latest in health education materials to take home. A light supper is served.

Cancer Screenings

Free screening for skin cancer. No appointment necessary. Specific dates, times and locations to be announced. Please check back or call 914.4.CANCER for further information.

FREE screening tests for prostate cancer. Annual screenings are recommended for men starting at age 50 and for African-American men and those with a family history of the disease starting at age 40. Sponsored by the Zalmen A. Arlin Cancer Institute at Westchester Medical Center and the American Cancer Society. Next screening September 18th.

Cancer Wellness Exercise Program

Exercise Program This FREE eight-session series is designed to meet the special needs of people undergoing and recovering from cancer treatment. Join us to take charge of your stress, minimize symptom distress and enhance your sense of well-being.

Mind-Body Exercise instruction includes: yoga, relaxation, stretching, meditation

Cancer Caregiver Program

This free four hour skills training program, taught by certified oncology nurses, is designed to provide families facing the crisis of cancer with the information necessary to provide physical and emotional care to their loved one with cancer. The session will include lecture with slides, group interaction and demonstrations.
